If Atheism is Foolish, Why is it Wrong?

First off, it's a crying shame that SuperAmerica clerks are forced by Corporate to throw away 30-or-so-gallon-capacity clear plastic bags of what essentially is relatively-edible sweet-roll-type pastries and sandwiches, when economy-depressed Christian charities could be given such in random-apportionment giveaways.

To put it another way, it's a crime that needy Biblical evangelicals cannot raid dumpsters within which such essentially-still-fresh-enough food items could be secretly taken from every night or so.

Overstocking with throw-away sandwiches and pastries is insidious, although the desire to make a profit with "mommy-fresh-baked" sloganeering is understandable.

The corporate powers-who-be at SuperAmerica certainly need to acquire the mindset of Christ, and cut some slack for the clerks who might facilitate such yet-adequately-edible foods "stolen" for Christian-oriented purposes.

Now, that I have said my piece about that, on to other things.

If you, the discerning reader, have received any of my mass-emailed writings previously, you might wonder why the heading about on this webpage is not instead titled: "Since Atheism is Foolish, Why is it Wrong."

You probably expected more of a dogmatic statement of "faith," or "belief" (or is it instead my mere take-it-or-leave-it "opinion" - as pseudo-comedian and irreligious-commentator Bill Maher and his errantly-questionable, late-evening, CNN quasi-talkshow-host Piers Morgan might put it). Along those lines, it is recorded in 'sacred Scripture' (and "pardon me," if you must, for the two last-mentioned words), that one of my beloved Jewish mentors is said to have said:

Romans 9:1 I am speaking the truth in Christ, I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit,
2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my relatives by race [better yet: "according to the flesh" as some non-RSV Bibles put it].
4 They are Israelites, and to them belong the sonship [most non-RSV translations instead state: adoption], the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises;
5 to them belong the patriarchs, and of their seed [the RSV instead states: race], according to the flesh, is the Christ. God who is over all be blessed for ever. Amen.
6 But it is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,
7 and not all are children of Abraham because they are his descendants; but "Through Isaac shall your descendants be named [Sorry, Ishmael and Esau, Mohammed and so-called "palestinian" arabs who claim affiliation with Abraham]."
8 This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are reckoned as descendants.

So I suppose that I am not very "good" at pretending to see things from an atheistic point of view. Pity (to some) - like Bill Moyer and his patsies such as Piers Morgan (who impudently could be ready to murder anyone who expresses 'fact' instead of 'their crazy opinion?').

But if belligerent homicide is their ultimate intention, Bill and his gang better come at a Christian with more than a .22, because that is no match for the saint's .357 or .44 magnum, and they'd better be quicker on the draw to not suddenly become extinct from the harmless exercising self-defense.

Bill deplores those who do not espouse and proclaim "separation of church and state" - and maybe figures that he can get away with it by fraudulently and dishonestly misrepresenting genuine Christian evangelicals as [presumed] mamsy-pamsy wimps who are pathetically always "turning the other cheek," - neither legally nor financially able to defend themselves on network media as both Moyer and Morgan can.

But Maher's accusation is, in fact, illegally discriminatory - and what he should instead beller on (in all dangerously pseudo-courageous presumptuousness) is war also against those who don't adhere to "separation of synagogue and state" along with those who do not go along with "separation of mosque and state" (and don't even begin to suggest that Christian churches are at all equivalent with either mosques or synagogues)!

To ridicule and blaspheme [purportedly-pacifist] Christians as believing in a Christ who hateful Maher claims was deceitfully committing "magic" rather than real bizarre-natural-occurrence miracles, and who Mayer claims a Jesus who mis-considered Himself His own Father, is one thing...but to enrage (with separation-of-mosque-and-state rant) a global-billion radical-extremist suicide-bomb-vested muslims eager to retaliate against reviler Maher by mailing whatever into or cozying up to him with the intention of blowing him to blood-and-guts smithereens in vengeful retaliation, and (even worse) infuriate (with separation-of-synagogue-and-state blatter) bands of irate super-activist jews of the kind who had enough non-relenting fury to convince the Roman government to crucify a totally-innocent Jesus....is something else entirely.

In my scientific and open-minded quest for total knowledge of all I can become aware of (and anti-kudos to all you froward prejudicially-bigoted anti-religious subversives out there who disdain my efforts to try to discover whatever I can), I have discovered a fascinating and somewhat-awesome "Holy Bible" within which is recorded the following words of someone referred to as "King David:"

Ps 10:4 In the pride of his countenance [case in point: Maher and Morgan] the wicked does not seek [God]; all his thoughts are, "There is no God."
Ps 14:1 To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good [especially Maher and Morgan].
Ps 53:1 To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

Please note that "David" said what he said concerning (and not regarding) atheists in his evaluation against (not "of" nor even "about" and certainly not "for") them three times -- so it is clear that he really meant it.

Now, Maher and Morgan might presumptuously state that they "do not believe that" - which (in tricky lawyer-like devious semantics) is of course not exactly the same as saying that "that is not at all true."

So, you and I are faced with a choice: Either Maher (and Morgan?) are fools in implying or insinuating that there is no God and therefore by default out to make David a liar . . . or David was correct in claiming that Maher/Morgan types are indeed fools . . . or neither Maher/Morgan nor David were right and all three had it wrong pertaining to this subject.

In what way or ways should [atheistic?] Maher [who hypocritically has mentioned his childhood study of "catechism"] and Morgan be considered: "fools?"

1Co 2:14 The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
Jas 3:15 This wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish.

It almost goes without saying that if Maher and Morgan are spiritually "fools" because of their implied atheism as they pooh-pooh right-wing-fundamentalist Christian-evangelical persons and doctrines, at least they (as yet, I guess) do not deny that things around them exist.

Hey, at least it's a start. Beats the heck out of injuring or even murdering themselves presuming that all around them is an illusion they need not adjust themselves to, or becoming captured and confined by law-enforcement-enhanced armed Men in White Coats from a nearby secure-facility mental hospital for the criminally insane.

The power of human-senses detected and human-reasoning logic comes into play here as to determining which is the case with reference to preceding paragraphs.

In all fairness, not only Maher and Morgan most likely detect and admit to environmental stimuli and entites existing around them, but so do bonafide saints professing "faith" in "God" and "Christ" and power of historically-recorded "supernatural miracles:"

Ps 9:5 You have rebuked the nations, you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever.
Ps 106:9 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry; and he led them through the deep as through a desert.
Mt 8:26 And he said to them, "Why are you afraid, men of little faith?" Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Mr 4:39 And He awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Lu 8:24 And they went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; and they ceased, and there was a calm.

[ As spectacular unusual news is reported on CBS, ABC, and NBC, or both FOX and CNN, so this phenomenal wind-rebuking was reported in in the three Biblical "cable networks" of Matthew, Mark, and Luke ]

2Pe 1:16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Nu 7:89 And when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the LORD, he heard The Voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and It spoke to him.
De 4:12 Then the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of words, but saw no form; there was only a Voice.
1Ki 19:13 And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And hey, there came a Voice to him, and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
Da 4:31 While the words were still in the king's mouth, there fell a Voice from heaven, "Oh King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you."
Mt 3:17 and wow, a Voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." [something Joseph Smith of the Mormons never heard]
Mt 17:5 He was still speaking, when wow, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a Voice from the cloud said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him."
Mr 1:11 and a Voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."
Mr 9:7 And a cloud overshadowed them, and a Voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son; listen to Him."
Lu 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form, as a dove, and a Voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."
Lu 9:35 And a Voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to Him!"
Joh 12:28 Father, glorify your name. Then a Voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again."
Ac 9:4 And he fell to the ground and heard a Voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"
Ac 26:14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a Voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It hurts you to kick against the goads.'

Whether like from a woofer or a tweeter, or divine combination of both from the Sacred Speaker, the words were heard and were intelligible.

The Maher-and-Morgan-ridiculed saints do NOT have Julie-Andrews "confidence in confidence alone:"

1Jo 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, regarding The Word of Life -
1Jo 1:2 The Life was made manifest, and we saw [Him], and testify to [Him], and proclaim to you The Eternal Life [who] was with the Father and was made manifest to us -
1Jo 1:3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

Now, both or either Maher and/or Morgan might ridicule the verses above, and incessantly question their veracity, but the VAST accrued testimony of literally millions of past and present-day saints AND their directly-related monumental works roundly and definitively contradict the disparaging remarks of both Maher and Morgan.

Mt 7:16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Mt 7:20 Thus you will know them by their fruits.

[ Incidently, both Maher and Morgan are "fruity" enough - but in a despicably perverted way ].

Also, the LORD Himself is involved in the overall mix, and His Spirit has terrifying and lethal plans for both Maher and Morgan, both temporally and eternally (whether they admit to or foresee them, or not):

Pr 25:8 . . . what will you do in the end, when your neighbor puts you to shame?
Isa 10:3 What will you do on the day of punishment, in the storm which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth?
Jer 5:31 . . . the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?

As asked before, how can we determine if one person is correct and the other errant, or if both are wrong and nobody knows the true answer?

Suppose you, in a desperate panic, knew about some emergency "bible" available which you had been informed about, containing instructions about what to do in case a ship you had boarded was starting to sink into icy deep waters because of it colliding against and running alongside an iceberg causing the iceberg to horizontally slice one of the undersides of the ship (Titanic-style). Unbeknowns to you at the time, that survival bible internally stated that underneath the table where the bible lay was a self-inflatable life raft, clothing, and food for three days.

Would you believe that that bible could help you? Would you believe that instructions in that bible could save you from helplessly drowning by painful underwater suffocation? Or would you scoff and disbelieve, atheist-like, in arrogant argumentative obstinence?

Belief and faith in written warnings can be quite crucial and life-saving when it comes to believing HIGH VOLTAGE signs in electrical substations, the POISON warning labels on bottles, STAY OFF THE LAKE signs on thin ice, etc.

It has been said that Albert Einstein wisely exclaimed: "God does not play dice with the Universe" - which is another way of saying:

Job 14:5 Since his days are determined, and the number of his months is with you, and you have appointed his bounds that he cannot pass,
6 look away from him, and desist, that he may enjoy, like a hireling, his day.
10 But man dies, and is laid low; man breathes his last, and where is he?
11 As waters fail from a lake, and a river wastes away and dries up,
12 so man lies down and rises not again; till the heavens are no more he will not awake, or be roused out of his sleep.

Job 38:4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.
5 Who determined its measurements: surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?
6 On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone,
7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 Or who shut in the sea with doors, when it burst forth from the womb;
9 when I made clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 and prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors,
11 and said, 'Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed'?
12 Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place,
13 that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it?
15 From the wicked their light is withheld, and their uplifted arm is broken.
16 Have you entered into the springs of the sea, or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you, or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
18 Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth? Declare, if you know all this.
19 Where is the way to the dwelling of light, and where is the place of darkness,
20 that you may take it to its territory and that you may discern the paths to its home?
22 Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
23 which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?
24 What is the way to the place where the light is distributed, or where the east wind is scattered upon the earth?
25 Who has cleft a channel for the torrents of rain, and a way for the thunderbolt,
26 to bring rain on a land where no man is, on the desert in which there is no man;
27 to satisfy the waste and desolate land, and to make the ground put forth grass?
28 Has the rain a father, or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29 From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the hoarfrost of heaven?
30 The waters become hard like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
31 Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, or loose the cords of Orion?
32 Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children?
33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth?
34 Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that a flood of waters may cover you?
35 Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go and say to you, 'Here we are'?"

Ps 65:5 By dread deeds you do answer us with deliverance, God of our salvation, who are the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of the farthest seas;
6 who by your strength have established the mountains, being dressed with might;
7 who does still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples;
8 so that those who reside at earth's farthest bounds are afraid at your signs; you make the outgoings of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

Ps 74:17 You have fixed all the bounds of the earth; you have made summer and winter.
Ps 148:6 And He established them forever; He fixed their bounds which cannot be passed.

We're not talking Hollywood special-effects now from Lucasfilm Light and Magic, nor hocus-pocus voodoo.

Fight Nature? Both you and I would certainly lose if we tried:

Mt 4:7 Jesus said to him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"
Lu 4:12 And Jesus answered him, "It is said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"
Ac 5:9 But Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Listen up! The feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."
1Co 7:5 Do not refuse one another except perhaps by agreement for a season, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, lest Satan tempt you through lack of self-control.
1Co 10:9 We must not put the Lord to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents . . .

What is contained in overwhelmingly sensible and logical Scripture [natural examples stated above] is no different, and those who defy nature enough finally [and both understandably and thankfully] pay the ultimate cost:

Job 34:33 Will He then make requital to suit you, because you reject it? For you must choose, and not I; therefore declare what you know.
Job 35:6 If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to Him?
Jer 9:7 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts: "Hey, I will refine them and test them, for what else can I do, because of my people?

Obviously, what cannot be verified (which is not able to be verified and thus should not be attempted to be verified) with human senses of sight and hearing and touch, and what is NOT logical to believe (in relation to the five senses which both do and can detect real stimuli and entities around us, and which do exist in fact (so that if we disregarded their existence we would harm or destroy ourselves in pain proportional to the extent of us acting misbehaving in our self-deceived disregard) . . . such figments of superstition-concocted deviant imagination need not be believed nor acted upon as if they were credible.

Here is where proper interpretation of obvious [figurative or metaphorical] euphemisms - in stark contrast to what clearly is to be understood literally - of the Bible is vital.

Consider the euphemisms which, if taken literally, would not only be highly questionable but both laughably and ridiculously absurd:

Ro 3:20 For no human being will be justified in his sight by works of the law [so let's all live like the Devil?], since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
Ro 7:4 Likewise, my brethren, you have died to the law [time to go to jail breaking the civil and moral law, however and whenever and wherever?] through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.
Col 3:3 For you have died [and so where's your tombstone, and in what graveyard?], and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Php 4:13 I can do all things in him who strengthens me [including jumping over the Moon?]
2Ti 1:10 and now has manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death [so no one ever dies anymore?] and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Many more examples could be cited.

In summary, it is both rational and sane to "believe" in "faith" that some creator/creators (and thus - logically - by inevitable and typical government-management hierarchy-ascension prominence: some Triune Head-Creator) created everything animate and inanimate around us, which created entities certainly (and logically) did not create nor assemble itself or themself - whether in a few minutes or hours or days, or instead millions or billions or zillions of years.

WHO that Creator was (in terms of named identity and personage), and what His (logically: not "her") purpose was in doing so, is found verbatim (not merely "suggested") in The Sacred-66-books (there I go again!) Judeo-Christian (Old-&-New-Testaments) Holy Bible, both in the forms of the obviously-yet-existing original Texts (minus the by-now-disintegrated original autographic manuscripts?) and in various-language translations despite misleading and confusing mistranslations associated with such.

Neither Maher nor Morgan can nor have come up with a suitably-sensible alternative, as would be the case if they were hallucinating with alcohol or narcotics. Non-funny sassy joking and jesting from both of them simply does not cut it, nor gullibly cowering to their fallible and threatening pseudo-predictive false prophecies.

In a videotaped interview with Reuters, billionaire financier George Soros said that should Romney win the White House in November, there would be "little difference" between him and Obama.

"If itís between Obama and Romney, there isnít all that much difference except for the crowd that they bring with them," he said while at Davos, Switzerland.

The suggestion is that on economics, there is little to distinguish between the current occupant of the White House and Romney. If Gingrich wins, however, he believes the situation would be much different.

"Romney would have to take Gingrich or Santorum as a vice president and you probably have some pretty extreme candidates for the Supreme Court," Soros added.

"So it won't be that great a difference," he concluded.

He also said there would be little enthusiasm for either candidate, and the election would be "more civilized."

Gingrich responded by noting that Goldman Sachs is one of Romney's largest contibutors in 2012.

Guy 1: Gonna vote for Romney?

Guy 2: Heck No! Why would a guy be adamantly pro-choice for abortion-homicide in Massachusetts, and accommodate Planned Parenthood in that state, but then now pretend to be pro-life - on such a basic religiously-related issue - when he said that the goody-goody moral stances of his quasi-cultic mormon church would not affect his public-policy decisions as Prez?

Guy 1: So you support Obama?

Guy 2: I never said that, did I?

Guy 1: Well obviously, if you don't vote for Romney, you'll be throwing away your vote to Obama.

Guy 2: No I won't. I won't vote for either one, so neither gets my vote - for or against. I'll probably patriotically vote 3rd party, rather than merely abstain and not vote at all.

Guy 1: Don't you support any of the GOP presidential candidates - imperfect as they are - like Ronald Reagan, who divorced his first wife and brown-nosed the sexist feminists by appointing Sandra Day O'Connor to the High Court?

After all, did not Newt put bathing-exhibitionist Bathsheba under duress by ordering her up to his royal castle and getting her pregnant without first marrying her, then set up her husband Uriah to be murdered who then was indeed murdered, for which criminal act he never ever repented?

Guy 2: Callista knows.

If the November 2012 Election choice came down to Obama vs. Gingrich, who do you think so-called "moderate" [republican] RINOs would vote for? You know in your heart that most of them would not vote for Obama, but instead (albeit perhaps fearfully and reluctantly) vote for Gingrich.

Guy 1: Got a point there. And if genuine ultra-orthodox Christian Evangelicals and Jews (not to mention fundamentalist Islamic) lose respect for Romney and consider him a waffling and internally-dishonest wind-sniffer to simply get votes, he probably would lose to charismatic Obama who has cunningly convinced Americans that "things are gradually improving but more time is needed for really-positive improvement" - being that Romney would remind such confused voters of defeated compromisers H.W. Bush (who lost to Clinton in '92 when Icorigin voted for Howard Phillips of the Constitution Party, Bob Dole (who also lost to Clinton in '96 when Icorigin again voted for Howard Phillips of the Constitution Party, and McCain/Palin in 2008 (when Icorigin voted for the Prez and VP candidates of the Constitution Party once again).
