I wanted to title this essay "Prochoice" - but as you the reader can plainly see, that word is comprised of 9 letters, and current Microsoft software I am using will only allow 8 letters.

Bummer. Oh well.

Can we not say that God Himself is non-robotically and non-instinctually "pro-choice," and that He made human creatures who also are non-robotically and non-instinctually "pro-choice?"

In other words, God Himself can choose (and did) whatever He wanted to do, and we humans (within God-given parameters) similarly choose to do whatever we want.

Ge 4:7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is couching at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it."

Ge 18:19 No, for I have chosen him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice; so that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has promised him."

Embedded within the word pro-choice then, is not only the capacity to choose whatever (within boundaries, for humans) is wanted or desired, but the appreciation or liking of having that capacity. Animals and lower lifeforms functioning only on pre-programmed instinct and a mere plethoria of responses to stimuli neither have nor exhibit such.

So, every sentient entity with morality awareness - be they human, angelic or demonic, or Divine - is "pro-choice" in both senses mentioned above, and has already exercised the ability to choose.

CAN the Almighty choose to lie?

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth which accords with godliness,

CAN the LORD choose to be tempted?

James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God is not temptable, and He himself tempts no one

Choice, by itself, is amoral - however - and something which by itself neither makes us good or makes us evil. That depends upon what is chosen and NOT chosen (the proverbial ying-and-yang/push-and-pull/positive-and-negative of life).

Consider the person or persons who constantly choose to do only evil. Does their pro-choice capacity thus mis-used (to only choose wickedness) make them righteous?
Consider the person or persons who constantly choose to do only good. Does their pro-choice capacity thus correctly used (to only choose good) make them evil? How about the person or person who sometimes choose to do both good and evil at different times under different situations - whether at random or by chance and/or deliberately (whether under non-asked-for duress or not)?

What about people (such as some homosexuals) who claim that they have no choice to do either good or to do evil, but declare or infer that "they were born that way, and cannot do anything about it?" Are they being truthful and honest as to their actual God-given potential to be able to choose? Are they insinuating blame or condemnation against God who supposedly created them that way (that is, robotically) - with or without their permission - and thus, in effect, genetically forcing them to be evil?

Ex 18:21 Moreover choose able men from all the people, such as fear God, men who are trustworthy and who hate a bribe; and place such men over the people as rulers of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.

De 1:13 Choose wise, understanding, and experienced men, according to your tribes, and I will appoint them as your heads.'

Clearly, the person or persons who choose only evil (as much as possible) and therefore generally do not (nor like to) accommodate to the Creator-created environment and God-incepted phenomena and processes around them, are destined for disappointment, self-inflicted suffering, pain, regret, death, and (as indicated in Holy Writ) much more after that. Similarly, the person or person who deliberately choose to sometimes do good (as "good" is defined in The Holy Bible) but sometimes deliberately do evil (as "evil" is also defined in The Holy Bible) are internally contradictory and self-destructive (since "a house divided against itself cannot stand" - quoting the words of Scripture).

Those who deliberately choose to always and only do good (or at least have reasonable intention to do so) and who adjust themselves (more often than not) to the created entities and phenomena around them, are destined for gladness, self-preserving pleasure, painlessness and absence of regret, life rather than death, and (as indicated within Holy Writ) much more after that.

DO the righteous like it that they can choose evil if they want to? DO the wicked like it that they can choose good if they want to?

WILL the righteous like it, in afterlife eternity, that they will always deliberately choose to do good and never accidently (under wicked duress) choose to do evil? WILL the wicked like it, in afterlife eternity, that they will always deliberately choose to do evil and never accidently (under righteous influence) choose to do good?

It is assumed that the righteous (or those whose basic intention is to be perfectly righteous) will, in afterlife eternity, still retain their capacity to choose either good or evil, but because all temptation to choose to do evil is permanently and completely removed, they will automatically (by default) always choose to perpetually do good - and like it.

It is also assumed that the wicked (or those whose inner intention is to be completely evil) will, in afterlife eternity, still retain their capacity to choose either good or evil, but because all incentive and influence to choose to do good is permanently and completely removed, they will automatically (by default) always choose to perpetually do evil.

The question of why the LORD imposed the two stumbling blocks in the Garden of Eden (namely, the Tempter and the dangerous Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil) to potentially be misused by His human creatures, is somewhat similar to the question of why the LORD planned and provided the by-mere-faith-via-simple-belief reconciliation through Jesus Christ for total everlasting restoration.

So, would you (the reader) like to irrationally choose to always commit the soon-extinction-headed sin and crime of abortion homicide instead of childbearing? Or, would you (the reader) like to both choose to sometimes commit the eventual-extinction-destined sin and crime of abortion homicide (with all the lethally-remorseful consequences) but sometimes perform childbirth? Or would you (the reader) like to choose to always perform childbirth whenever the Spirit causes and appoints you to parenthood of a separate-human-person/not-merely-your-own-body, never-ending-soul-endowed, fetal human babe in the womb?

De 30:19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live,
De 31:11 when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

In summary, it is not a question of whether one is or is not "pro-choice." Everyone is pro-choice. It goes with the territory.

Instead, the question is: "Are you pro-abortion, or rather anti-abortion?" And many other sexually-oriented aspects of human thoughts and actions could be substituted for the subject of abortion and considered the same way.

Indeed, even those who have wilfully chosen to addict themselves and then are enslaved to whatever vice or abuse against themselves, incessantly have and relentlessly continue to choose (not "make" nor create the choice, being that precise semantics clarify concepts and avoid confusion) to continue to be addicted:

Ne 5:5 Now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children are as their children; yet we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved; but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.

Jer 34:8 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to make a proclamation of liberty to them,
Jer 34:9 that every one should set free his Hebrew slaves, male and female, so that no one should enslave a Jew, his brother.

[ NOTE: Notice that the slaves mentioned above are Hebrews and brothers. That does not include ALL slaves ]
