God(s) For War

Ps 82:6 I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;
Isa 41:23 Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; do good, or do harm, that we may be dismayed and terrified.
Joh 10:34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, you are gods'?
Joh 10:35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came (and scripture cannot be broken),
Joh 10:36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

We monotheists who believe in "one" God, albeit in the trinitarian three persons of the Father, Son, and Spirit Godhead per:

1Jo 5:7 (KJ21) For there are three that bear record in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one

find it discomforting at least and blasphemous at worst to call humans "gods."

We feel that that type of polytheistic paganism went out and should have gone out with the dark ages, and thus tend to feel like:

Mt 9:3 And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming."

So we believers are all now "sons of God" according to:

Ge 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.
De 32:8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of men, he fixed the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.
Mt 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Ro 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Ga 3:26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

So as I write to you the reader, feel honored as a son of God (by definition, of course).

No need for me to shoot, steal from, nor rape you now. Nor you, me.

Having said all that, we now divert attention to that Trinitarian Almighty God, frequently known as LORD and not simply Lord (more understandable than YHWH or Yahweh or G-d).

From the sixties on, many of my generation have one-sidedly overstressed "peace, not war." "Make love, not war" has been the mantra of the hippies now settled down to being suburban bumper-sticker protestors against everything from the Vietnam war to the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

This in spite of the enlightenment of one of their rock songs:

Ec 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
Ec 3:8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
Ec 3:17 I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for he has appointed a time for every matter, and for every work.
Am 5:13 Therefore he who is prudent will keep silent in such a time; for it is an evil time.

And what does part of the Bible say about war?

De 20:20 Only the trees which you know are not trees for food you may destroy and cut down that you may build siegeworks against the city that makes war with you, until it falls [score a point for the tree-hugging environmentalists and anti-global-warmers].
