Mercy?

None of us personally asked God to use XXX means to be conceived and born into this world . . . but we did not object to it either.

So it's a moot point, and irrelevant.

It is now a matter of the immutable fact that we are here, and what are we going to do about it, pertaining to whether or not we choose to either be for God our Creator and His creation, or instead against Him and His creation . . . in view of the phenomenal, extensive, never-ending consequences of deciding either way?

There should be no question in the mind of any person who has ever lived, lives now, and will live - that God the Creator is benevolent.

Rather closely related to the term benevolent is the word compassionate, which, semantically, has a slightly-different shade of meaning, being that benevolent presents the implication that the Creator of humans has, does, and will give whatever, generously, to us not merely when and how He wants, but as and when and how we need what He freely and graciously confers to us.

Compassion relates to helping out possibly-despised-by-others persons in distress - for whatever motive(s) - even if they would not help us out when we are in trouble.

Another closely-related term is: mercy, but mercy infers that whoever is the recipient of such has committed (and not "performed") some perceived or imagined or actual offense, wrong, crime, or sin - but has been pardoned, exonerated, released from penalty, or been given leniency.

"Mercy" is not so much an absence of prejudice and bigotry for and not against someone, nor is it cowardly or indifferent tolerance, acquiescence, inclusiveness, acceptance of diversities and alternate lifestyles or speech or behavior -- although some Bible verses seem to suggest such non-legitimate bestowing of often-unconditional grace when allowance should NOT be given nor imparted, whether politely or grudgingly:

Ro 11:30 Just as you were once disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience,
Ro 11:31 so they have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may receive mercy.
Ro 11:32 For God has consigned all men to disobedience, that he may have mercy upon all.

Jas 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.

'Mercy' is involved with permissive granting of patient love or absolution in the process of giving righteous judgment (or justice) authorized by God, the Ultimate Judge, for the welfare of others and even the sake of reasonable and understandable self-defense (as when a police officer shoots dead someone who fires a gun at him or some other innocent victim - or in all probable cause intends to fire a gun at them, usually after first being warned to not shoot but promptly drop the weapon).

It is said that Jesus, in Luke 5:32, declared: "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

To repentance.

The LORD never "accepts anyone the way they are" without simultaneously making it clear (or intending to eventually make it clear) to them the requirement for them to repent of whatever they need to repent of as a condition of acceptance.

Legitimately showing real mercy does the same - always:

Mt 22:8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy.
9 Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.'
10 And those servants went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment;
12 and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; there humans will weep [but not in mutual-fellowship four-part harmony nor hear-each-other unison] and gnash their teeth.'

It is, of course, assumed that the speechlessness of the wedding intruder who did not belong where he had imposed himself was not due to severe crippling handicap, deafness with or without blindness, a lack of a working tongue, or inability to converse in some intelligible language.

The Holy Spirit, speaking by Divine inspiration through Saint Paul, inferred somewhat of the same thing:

1Co 3:1 But I, brethren, could not address you as spiritual men, but as men of the flesh, as babes in Christ.

A drowning person who is thrown a lifeline from some caring captain of some rescue boat is well aware that if he or she grabs the lifebuoy and is pulled to safety by that captain, they are then under obligation to either thank the captain for saving them, be temporarily subservient under the control of the captain who saved them, or both.

And if a totally helpless person is semi-unconscious when lifted up out of the water they have almost drowned in, the obvious imperative of thanking the captain for saving them, and becoming submissive under the captain's jurisdiction for the time being, inevitably occurs - and the saved one, once he or she has regained full consciousness, has to definitively and promptly make that decision.

With the captain then responding accordingly.

'Mercy' is certainly not imposing self-aggrandizing or selfish vengeance or punishment beyond what the infraction deserves.

Pr 21:10 The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.
Isa 13:18 Their bows will slaughter the young men; they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb; their eyes will not pity children.
Isa 47:6 I was angry with my people, I profaned my heritage; I gave them into your hand, you showed them no mercy; on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.
Jer 16:5 For thus says the LORD: "Do not enter the house of mourning, or go to lament, or bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people," says the LORD, "my steadfast love and mercy."
Jer 50:42 They lay hold of bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy. The sound of them is like the roaring of the sea; they ride upon horses, arrayed as a man for battle against you, Oh daughter of Babylon!
La 2:2 The Lord has destroyed without mercy all the habitations of Jacob; in His wrath He has broken down the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; He has brought down to the ground in dishonor the kingdom and its rulers.
La 2:21 In the dust of the streets lie the young and the old; my maidens and my young men have fallen by the sword; in the day of your anger you have slain them, slaughtering without mercy.

To cut out a person's tongue for once lying about going through a red stoplight with no one around on a lonely highway at night is - for the most part - overdoing it. To amputate a person's hand for accidently touching a hot iron or stove when told to not touch is going overboard. To slice off a person's foot for accidently stubbing their toe against a bedpost after being warned to be careful is far more than what is called for. Doing any such actions against someone (especially if the executioner has done the same thing or things himself or herself) is NOT acceptable manifestations of "mercy."

De 19:4 This is the provision for a guy accused of non-intentional manslaughter, who by running away there may save his life. If any one kills his neighbor accidently without having been at enmity with him in time past,
De 19:5 as when a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to cut wood, and his hand swings the axe to cut down a tree, and the head slips from the handle and strikes his neighbor so that he dies, he may run away to one of these cities and save his life;
De 19:6 lest the avenger of blood in hot anger pursue the manslayer and overtake him, because the way is long, and wound him mortally, though the man did not deserve to die, since he was not at enmity against his neighbor in time past.

Jer 26:16 Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, "This man does not deserve the sentence of death, for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God."

Ac 25:11 If then I am a wrongdoer, and have committed anything for which I deserve to die, I do not seek to escape death; but if there is nothing in their charges against me, no one can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar."
Ac 26:31 and when they had withdrawn, they said to one another, "This man is doing nothing to deserve death or imprisonment."

Requests for mercy are plentiful throughout the entirety of the Bible:

Job 9:15 Though I am innocent, I cannot answer Him; I must appeal for mercy to my accuser.

Ps 25:6 Be mindful of your mercy, Oh LORD, and of your continuous love, for they have been from of old.
Ps 40:11 Do not, Oh LORD, withhold your mercy from me, let thy continuous love and your faithfulness ever preserve me!

Da 4:27 Therefore, Oh king, let my counsel be acceptable to you; break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your tranquility."
Da 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness; though we have rebelled against Him . . .
Da 9:18 Oh my God, incline your ear and hear; open your eyes, see and consider our desolations, and the city which is called by your name; for we do not present our requests to you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy.

Hab 3:2 Oh LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, Oh LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years renew it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

Zec 1:12 Then the angel of the LORD said, 'Oh LORD of hosts, how long will you have no mercy on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?'

Mt 9:27 And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out loud, "Have mercy on us, Son of David."
Mt 15:22 And hey, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and bellered out: "Have mercy on me, Oh Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely possessed by a demon."

Lu 17:13 and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."
Lu 18:38 And he bellered: "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Lu 18:39 And those who were in front reprimanded him, telling him to shut up; but he bellered out all the more: "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Jude 1:2 May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Acknowledgments about obtaining and predictions about receiving mercy also abound throughout Scripture:

2Sa 24:14 Then David said to Gad, "I am in great distress; let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but let me not fall into the hand of man."

Ps 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall reside in the house of the LORD forever.

Ps 103:1 Bless the LORD, Oh my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the LORD, Oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the Pit, who crowns you with continuous love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the people of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in continuous love.
9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep His anger forever.
10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor requite us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His continuous love toward those who fear Him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for humans, their days are like grass; they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.
17 But the continuous love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear Him, and his righteousness to children's children,
18 to those who keep His covenant and remember to do His commandments.
19 The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless the LORD, Oh you His angels, you mighty ones who do His word, responding to the voice of His word!
21 Bless the LORD, all his hosts, His ministers who do His will!
22 Bless the LORD, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, Oh my soul!

Pr 28:13 He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Jer 31:20 "Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him," says the LORD.

[ NOTE: But Ephraim is not mentioned as one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel in Revelation chapter 7:

4 And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel,
5 twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand of the tribe of Gad,
6 twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand of the tribe of Manasseh,
7 twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand of the tribe of Issachar,
8 twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Benjamin.

Lu 1:68 "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed His people,
69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,
70 as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from of old,
71 that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us;
72 to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant,
73 the oath which He swore to our father Abraham,
74 to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear,
75 in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

Ro 9:15 For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
16 So it depends not upon man's will or exertion, but upon God's mercy.
18 So then He has mercy upon whomever He wills, and He hardens the heart of whomever He wills.
20 But who are you, a man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me thus?"
21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for beauty and another for menial use?
22 What if God, desiring to show His wrath and to make known His power, has endured with much patience the vessels of wrath made for destruction,
23 in order to make known the riches of His glory for the vessels of mercy, which He has prepared beforehand for glory,
24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the nations?
25 As indeed He says in Hosea, "Those who were not my people I will call 'my people,' and her who was not beloved I will call 'my beloved.'"

Ro 12:6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
7 if service, in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching;
8 he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contributes, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

Php 2:27 Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

1Ti 1:2 To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

1Ti 1:12 I thank Him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He judged me faithful by appointing me to His service, 13 though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted Him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in disbelief,
16 but I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display His perfect patience for an example to those who were to believe in Him for eternal life.

2Ti 1:2 To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
2Ti 1:16 May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me; he was not ashamed of my chains,
2Ti 1:18 may the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that Day - and you well know all the service he rendered at Ephesus.

Tit 3:5 He saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit,

Heb 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1Pe 2:10 Once you were no people but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy.

2Jo 1:3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father's Son, in truth and love.

But the same Son-of-God Jesus and his Scripture-recorded devotees who required and commanded mercy:

Zec 7:9 Thus says the LORD of hosts,
Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy each to his brother . . ."

Mt 9:13 Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
Mt 12:7 And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mt 18:33 and should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?'
Mt 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, justice and mercy and faith; these you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

Lu 10:36 Which of these three, do you think, proved neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?"
Lu 10:37 He said, "The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

Jas 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.

Jude 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God; wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jude 1:23 save some, by snatching them out of the fire; on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

also said:

De 7:2 and when the LORD your God gives them over to you, and you defeat them; then you must utterly destroy them; you shall make no covenant with them, and show no mercy to them.
Jos 11:20 For it was the LORD's doing to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be utterly destroyed, and should receive no mercy but be exterminated, as the LORD commanded Moses.
1Ki 2:26 And to Abiathar the priest the king said, "Go to Anathoth, to your estate; for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because you shared in all the affliction of my father."
Job 34:33 Will He then make requital to suit you, because you reject it? For you must choose, and not I; therefore declare what you know.
Jer 49:12 For thus says the LORD: "If those who did not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, will you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you must drink."
Ro 1:32 Though they know God's decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them.
Heb 10:28 A man who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy at the testimony of two or three witnesses.
Re 2:23 and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.

Lamentably, but realistically, most people (for whatever incomprehensible cause) neither ask for nor desire God's mercy, partly because they do not believe that they have done anything requiring the Lord's mercy.

Isa 10:22 "For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness."
Mt 7:14 "For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few."
Mt 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."
Ro 9:27 And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved . . ."

And even if they did assume that, they are usually too proud to ask for mercy and pardon, and/or they do not feel that God would give them mercy and forgiveness even if they asked Him to.

Job 36:13 The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when He binds them.

Pr 21:7 The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do what is just.
Pr 21:25 The desire of the sluggard kills him for his hands refuse to labor.
Pr 30:20 This is the way of an adulteress: she eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, "I have done no wrong."

Jer 3:3 Therefore the showers have been withheld, and the spring rain has not come; yet you have a harlot's brow, you refuse to be ashamed.
Jer 8:5 Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, they refuse to return.
Jer 9:6 "Heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit, they refuse to know me," says the LORD.
Jer 13:10 This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this waistcloth, which is good for nothing.
Jer 25:28 And if they refuse to accept the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: You must drink!"

Jer 38:21 But if you refuse to surrender, this is the vision which the LORD has shown to me:
22 Hey, all the women left in the house of the king of Judah were being led out to the princes of the king of Babylon and were saying, 'Your trusted friends have deceived you and prevailed against you; now that your feet are sunk in the mire, they turn away from you.'
23 All your wives and your sons shall be led out to the Chaldeans, and you yourself shall not escape from their hand, but shall be seized by the king of Babylon; and this city shall be burned with fire."
24 Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, "Let no one know of these words and you shall not die.
25 If the princes hear that I have spoken with you and come to you and say to you, 'Tell us what you said to the king and what the king said to you; hide nothing from us and we will not put you to death,'
26 then you shall say to them, 'I made a humble plea to the king that he would not send me back to the house of Jonathan to die there.'"
27 Then all the princes came to Jeremiah and asked him, and he answered them as the king had instructed him. So they left off speaking with him, for the conversation had not been overheard.
28 And Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.

Eze 2:5 And whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house) they will know that there has been a prophet among them.
Eze 2:7 And you shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear; for they are a rebellious house.
Eze 3:11 And go, get you to the exiles, to your people, and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD'; whether they hear or refuse to hear."
Eze 3:27 But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD'; he that will hear, let him hear; and he that will refuse to hear, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

Ho 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Mt 6:15 but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Mt 11:20 Then He began to upbraid the cities where most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
Mr 6:11 And if any place will not receive you and they refuse to hear you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them."

Joh 5:39 You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness to me;
40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.
41 I do not receive glory from men.
42 But I know that you have not the love of God within you.
43 I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.
44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; it is Moses who accuses you, on whom you set your hope.
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote of me.
47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"

Jude 1:8 Yet in like manner these men in their dreamings defile the flesh, reject authority, and revile the glorious ones.

Re 9:20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot either see or hear or walk;
Re 16:9 men were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues, and they did not repent and give Him glory.
Re 16:11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

There eventually comes 'a point of no return.'

There will come a time when the King will indeed permanently separate the thoroughly-wicked "goats" from the thoroughly-righteous "sheep" (see Matthew chapter 25).

If, then when, there comes a time when evil-intentioned persons have rejected God's mercy long enough, to a certain extent, and in severe-enough ways, the Lord's saints have an obligation to go away from and disassociate against them, and if the sinners don't get the point and arrogantly persist, the Lord Himself will retaliate against them eternally in indescribable everlasting fury:

De 32:5 They have dealt corruptly with him, they are no longer his children because of their blemish; they are a perverse and crooked generation.

Pr 6:15 therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.
Pr 29:1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck will suddenly be broken beyond healing.

Jer 7:16 "As for you, do not pray for this people, or lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with me, for I do not hear you."
Jer 11:14 "Therefore do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf, for I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble."
Jer 14:11 The LORD said to me: "Do not pray for the welfare of this people."
Jer 44:22 The LORD could no longer bear your evil doings and the abominations which you committed; therefore your land has become a desolation and a waste and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

Mt 5:13 You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men.

Lu 16:2 And he called him and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.'

Joh 6:66 After this many of His disciples drew back and no longer went about with Him.

Ro 1:24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves
Ro 1:26 For this cause God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural
Ro 1:28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct.

Ro 14:15 If your brother is being injured by what you eat [or wear, such as erotically-enticing loose long hair not tied into at least a back-of-head single ponytail, or flaunting naked arms or nude legs or soxless parts of bared feet in noisy flipflop sandals], you are no longer walking in love. Do not let what you eat [or mis-wear] cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died.
2Co 5:15 And He died for all [even though it will not do most of them any good], that those who live might live no longer for themselves but for Him who for their sake died and was raised.

Eph 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,
Eph 4:14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles.
Eph 4:17 Now this I affirm and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the [lewd-and-immodest warm-weather styles-and-fashions] futility of their minds;
Eph 4:28 Let the [indecently-misdressed anti-spouses-fox] thief no longer steal [erotically-sensual attention], but rather let him [and especially: her!] labor, doing honest work with his [her] hands, so that he [she] may be able to give to those in need.

1Th 3:5 For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent that I might know your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and that our labor would be in vain.

1Ti 5:23 No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.

Heb 10:18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Heb 10:26 For if we [immodestly or immorally] sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins [including application of Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross for us]

1Pe 4:1 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same thought, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer by human passions but by the will of God.
3 Let the time that is past suffice for doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in [porno-immodest] licentiousness, passions, drunkenness, revels, carousing, and lawless [warm-weather worldly hair-and-dress-styles/fashions] idolatry.
4 They are surprised that you do not now join them in the same wild profligacy, and they abuse you;
5 but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Re 12:7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
Re 12:8 but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.

Re 22:11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.

No more witnessing. No more trying to convert anyone anymore. It will be too late. The day of grace will be ended.

Forever.
