Mod Law

The word "mod" in the title above has multipurpose meanings.

Yesterday, the wife and I attended the annual Threshing Show in Nowthen Minnesota (near Elk River).

It was a rather sunny day, not excessively warm, but hot in the sun.

So, I sat for a while on a folding sack chair in the cool and shadowy shade of one of the tents on the premises, casually glancing here and there at nearby attendees roaming at random.

Of understandably-eye-catching notice to my roving gaze, and without my corrective-lens glasses on (being that I am significantly near-sighted), I happened to frequently see the lurid and lewd, public-nuisance-and-indecent-conduct, decomposing-dead-beach-fish-similar, fuzzy sights of arguably-quasi-insane human females in various types and severities of deplorable partially-naked misattire innocently or deliberately imposing themselves perhaps indifferently and mindlessly into my non-soliciting view.

I then imagined a hypothetical endeavor I would like to try someday if I happen to fall into substantial non-expected wealth.

I would like to give each and every female human on the grounds, in a public-gathering situation like that, one dollar . . . IF she had a decent non-mopheaded hairstyle (like a back-of-head ponytail or hair-up-in-a-bun chignon), wore boots or socks with shoes (instead of soxless bare feet under noisy attention-getting flipflop sandals), a FULL-length skirt or FULL-length slacks (rather than nude-legs-baring shortened skirt, shortened slacks, or shorts of any length), and at least wore half-naked-arms-covered short sleeves (but not too short).

Is that really too much to expect of the potentially-erotically-enticing inferior gender during seasonably warm weather or for general-public view athletic sports competitions?

By the way, if she modestly wore the above mentioned, was dressed in an Amish costume or an islamic-fundamentalist hijab with feet covered in socks or slippers and was wearing LONG sleeves, I would want to give her two dollars.

Regretfully, I figured that if I had actually, bravely, and perhaps-somewhat-dangerously really done what I imagined that I had wanted to do as previously mentioned above . . . to surprised, confused, suspicious female humans (especially those accompanied by defensive and protective boyfriends or husbands or fathers), I . . . had I survived without complaints or assaults or arrest . . . would probably have depleted my financial resources a mere maximum of less than $25 dollars yesterday concerning the plethora of sordid-sight lasciviously-exhibitionist females which I (as a hapless, senselessly-seduced, sensually-victimized, sexually-harassed-and-abused bystander) patiently endured there at the Threshing Show yesterday.

My thankfully-dressed-modestly gem-of-a-wife righteously sympathized with my tormented frustration.

This morning, after taking my 94-year-old dad to church, I was heading home, and enroute I was waiting at one of the intersections along my route for a red stoplight to "change to green" (if you know what I mean, and what is not meant is for the red bulb on top to suddenly turn into a green bulb on top) so I could drive on through.

Euphemisms can be misleading, and sufficient-explanation elaborations frequently result in laudable lack of misunderstandings . . . in this case, about the "changing stoplight."

To continue, other cars at different locations at that intersection were also waiting to continue on ahead, waiting for "the light to change" for them in their direction.

Then a thought popped into my head.

How strange the scene would be to a primitive foreigner who did not understand why the cars were waiting (sorry: there I go again with another potentially-diabolical euphemism) . . . more precisely: why the drivers of other cars were waiting to continue forward from where they were in their particular proximities. Weird also it would be, to that observant alien, how come certain cars at certain parts of the intersection would suddenly start to move forward while the other cars remained where they were.

To us American drivers, what is involved in such scenes is simply watching and being directed by colored stop-and-go stoplights. (And I am at a loss why I am not calling them go-lights instead. Lamentable euphemism upon lamentable euphemism, to be sure).

Intriguing it is that the willfully-motivated movements of drivers in nationwide vehicles are regulated by the rather simplistic phenomena of alternating display of colored lights at intersections.

Now, how difficult it must be for those rebellious relativists who do not believe in the more-or-less absolute right and wrong of adjusting their set-in-stone-standards-despising immentality to have to submissively submit to such a non-gray-area-type "black-or-white"-like system involving traffic-flow law and related Law . . . and to narrowly conform, in strict and non-alterable mandatory obedience, to repetitiously-functioning colored lights controlling movement of vehicles with such a near-no-brainer, almost-childishly-basic-cognition, primal-stimulus-and-response, colored-light-changes scheme which maybe even instinctual apes and dogs could be trained to correctly respond to.

Whether demented-deviate libertarians like, understand, and/or believe it or not, whether or not they deliberately or accidently disregard the apportionment capacity and function of colored lights to forcefully manipulate their own driving behavior and actions, is - in a very real sense - irrelevant. Squad cars of police, sheriff, and state patrol are on the sidelines, waiting and watching -- ready to promptly pounce upon any driver who commits even the slightest and most infrequent infraction or disobedience against the practically-immutable prime directive of stoplight law conveyed by colored intersection lights at controlled intersections.

So, even if doubters and disbelievers question the color of lights, where they dishonestly claim they were or weren't when the stoplight color changed, the lawful relationship of colored lights to traffic law and other related Law, why colored lights have been and yet are used to manage the driving of drivers at intersections, etc. the relativistic doubters and disbelievers (be they the equivalent of so-called "free"-"thinking" vehicular atheists or agnostics) soon learn -- if they have not learned already - that the proverbial [ squad-car-enforcement-surveillance] "rod for the back of fools" might very probably, quite inconveniently, and disreputationally be applied to them and their wallets - IF they do not, in fact, and in wise accommodation, comply - without exception or excuse.

It brings to mind a few Bible verses:

Genesis 49:18 I wait [ at the red stoplight? ] for your [ change-of-stoplight-color? ] salvation, Oh LORD.

Job 34:33 Will He [ and His squad-car peace officer who stopped you for nuisance tailgating or speeding? ] then make requital to suit you, because you reject it? For you must choose, and not I; therefore declare what you know.

Psalm 25:3 Yes, let none that wait for [ your probably-will-soon-change-color stoplight? ] be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous [ who impatiently and presumptuously race through red stoplights, and are ashamed, embarrassed, and humbled when flashing red-and-blue strobe lights suddenly come on out of nowhere behind them? ].

Psalm 25:21 May integrity and uprightness [ and the timer controlling the stoplight-colors change? ] preserve me, for I wait for you.

Psalm 37:9 For the wicked [ who disregard stop signs and/or zoom through red stoplights? ] shall be cut off [ whether they are wearing seat belts or not, if their totaled car suddenly bursts into gasoline-fed flames after the crash? ]; but those who wait for the LORD [ along with His stopsigns and stoplights? ] shall possess the land.

Psalm 37:34 Wait for the LORD, and keep to His way [ do not swerve like a drunk or while concentrating on texting? ], and He will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the [ impatiently-tailgating, pass-on-a-hill, ignore-a-double-yellow-line-on-a-two-way-road? ] wicked.

Psalm 59:3 For, wow, [ impatient pompous-ass-arrogant tailgaters who pass on the shoulder? ] lie in wait for my life; fierce men who [ do not come to a complete stop at stopsigns, even for right turns? ] band themselves against me, for no transgression or sin of mine, Oh LORD.

Proverbs 1:11 If they say, "Come with us, let us lie in wait for [ posted-speed-limit-compliant ] blood, let us wantonly ambush the [ completely-stop-at-red-stoplights, even for right turns ] innocent;
Proverbs 1:18 these men lie in wait for their own [ possibly-head-on-collision ] blood, they set a [ cops-lurking-in-non-marked-cars? ] ambush for their own lives.
Proverbs 12:6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the [ 911-emergency-cellphone-call? ] mouth of the upright delivers men.

Proverbs 21:30 No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel, can avail against the LORD [ and His TV-news highway surveillance cameras with bear-in-the-air helicopters monitoring traffic flow? ].

Proverbs 24:12 If you say, "Hey, we did not know this," does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will He not requite man according to his [ failure-to-stop-for-red-stoplights-at-highway- entrance-ramps? ] work?

Isaiah 33:2 Oh LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning [ especially when we are blinded by the rising sun and so cannot see who might be running a red light at our intersection? ], our salvation in the time of trouble.

Nahum 1:9 What do you plot against the LORD [ and His police-uniformed radar-speed-trap birdies? ] He will make a full end; He will not take vengeance twice on his foes.

Luke 12:47 And that servant who knew his master's will, but did not make ready or act according to his will, shall receive a severe beating [ possibly a gross misdemeanor or felony and mandatory court appearance? ].
Luke 12:48 But he who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, shall receive a light beating [ consisting of a hundred-dollar citation fine? ]. Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required; and of him to whom men commit much they will demand the more.

John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken to them [ with posted Construction Zone signs?] , they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their [ double-fines-required, reckless-vehicular-operation? ] sin.

Romans 1:20 Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely, His eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things [ like stoplights and stopsigns and speed-limit signs? ] that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
2 Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of him who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,
4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the [ Glock sidearm pistol, taser, mace, secret-police-radio-frequencies-transmitter, and handcuffs? ] in vain; he is the servant of God to execute his wrath on the wrongdoer.
5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.

First Corinthians 11:33 (paraphrase?) So then, my brethren, when you come together to drive, wait for one another.

First Corinthians 14:31 (rough paraphrase?) For you can all drive one at a time, so that all may be encouraged.

Second Corinthians 8:21 for [ cops? ] aim [ their Second-Amendment firearms? ] at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of men.

Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own [ gotta-hurry-to-get-to-my-appointment-on-time? ] interests, but also to the [ leisurely-vacation-time ] interests of others.

James 4:17 Whoever knows what is right to do [ as plainly stated in the Driver's Manual utilized to get a Driver's License ] and fails to do it, for him it is sin [ plus perhaps revocation of one's Driver's License? ].

Second Peter 3:13 (paraphrase?) But according to his promise we wait for a change of stoplight color so that we can then move forward without non-reasonable delay to preclude getting honked at from behind.

Concerning (and not "regarding") the temptation to engage in road rage:

Proverbs 20:22 Do not say, "I will repay evil"; wait for the LORD (and His 911-cellphone-called cops), and He will help you.

James 3:2 For we all make many mistakes, and if any one makes no mistakes in [ how he drives? ] he is a perfect man, able to [ positively influence all the other drivers around him? ] also.
