From a human (and sexually-oriented) point of view, the foundational basis for the creation of the twelve tribes of Israel (tribes even mentioned in the last New-Testament book of Revelation plus named family-line composition of the geneology of their Messiah Jesus Christ, is: patriarchal harem polygamy . . . ironically agreed with and consigned to by not merely the men involved (e.g. Abram, Jacob, and David) but (interestingly) by their primary wives (e.g. Sarai, Leah and Rachel, Bathsheba) who incited (for various causes) those faithful males to become and continue to be permanently polygamous.

In should be noted that the LORD never once condemned any of the above and others (Abram/Abraham, incestuous Lot who got his two daughters pregnant by their conniving, Jacob/Israel, incestuous Judah of the geneology of Jesus and his sensuously-deprived temporarily-street-walking-hooker daughter-in-law Tamar, Gideon, Samuel's father Elkanah, David with the exhibitionist wife Bathsheba of Uriah, Solomon [who perhaps got The Purple-Penie Award with his 999+ wives and concubines ] and perhaps even the prophet Hosea who fathered children with a perhaps-retired prostitute Gomer, etc.) for being guilty of "bigamy," nor engaging in "adultery" with any of their numerous permanent spouses, nor mis-considering the additional permanent spouses "mistresses" or "harlots" or "prostitutes."

The non-one-man/one-woman legitimacy of the simultaneous plural spouses (whether wives or concubines) was (and is yet currently!) assumed by such verses as the following:

Ecclesiastes 2:8 (RSV) I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces; I got singers, both men and women, and many concubines, man's delight.

It almost goes without saying that the proliferation of arrogantly anti-social and quietly-hostile, demonically-competitive conformity to ignorantly-or-deliberately-abusive public-nuisance and sexually-harassive/visually-assaultive particularly-female-human mopheaded/naked-armed/nude-legged/soxlessly-bare-footed general-public-view indecent exposure and consequential media pornography leading to prostitution of all types and sundry circumstances . . . goes hand in hand with the sordid production and vile-vermin perpetuation of the devastating plague of diabolical and despicable chauvinistic feminist sexism and consequential activist male homosexuality.

With that in mind, it is easy to see why God chose a bonafide genuine virgin (i.e. Mary) to be not the victim but the blessed recipient of non-abortive conception performed (and not "committed") by the Holy Spirit Himself instead of a human-male husband -- not only to compensate against the previous erotic sexcapades of the Old-Testament forerunners for corrective rectification, but to give the inferior gender a second chance of doing something positive for humankind instead of doing what it took to drive them into oblivion [ Eve ingesting The Forbidden Fruit in The Garden of Eden ].

The Virgin Conception (frequently misnamed: "the virgin birth" euphemism - vaguely not specifying whether a virgin mother was born or instead a virgin child was born) was also necessary to comprise the dual nature of Messiah and Savior Jesus Christ [ i.e. His Divine Nature from God His Father through The Holy Spirit, and His human nature from Mary His human mother ].

One might presume that the allusion below to the Jewish woman crowned with 12 stars (the Twelve Tribes of polygamous Jacob/Israel?) clothed with The Sun (God?) (not titillatingly bared in the buff) and the Moon (relating to the residential-for-Hebrews Earth?) underneath her (probably-completely-clad) feet, refers only to the Virgin Mary who bore the conqueror-to-become Male Child Jesus:

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a wondrous sign in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
2 And she, being with child [ not simply "fetus" ], cried out, travailing in birth and in pain to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another sign in heaven: hey, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew a third part of the stars [ rebelling fallen angels? ] of heaven, and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered, to devour her Child as soon as He was born.
5 And she brought out a male Child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there she should be fed one thousand two hundred and sixty days (i.e. 3.45 years, or almost a time, two times and half a time, or almost forty-two months).

The phrase in verse 5 of: "her child was caught up to God and to His throne" certainly seems to refer to Jesus Christ, birthed and mothered by Mary, which Redeemer indeed was caught up to God upon His resurrection from the dead after He was crucified:

Ephesians 4:8 Therefore it is said, "When He ascended on high He led a host of captives, and He gave gifts to humans."

And Mary did "flee into the wilderness" (of Egypt) with her espoused Joseph after Jesus was born, and probably "fed there" to survive:

Matthew 2:3 And when they had departed, hey, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Get up, and take the young Child and His mother, and flee into Egypt, and you be there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."
14 When he got up, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed into Egypt,
15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt have I called My Son."

20 saying, "Get up, and take the young Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel, for they are dead who wanted the young Child's life."

It is not known if the temporary time that Mary was in Egypt was 3.45 years, or almost a time, two times and half a time, or almost forty-two months - with relation to Revelation chapter 12.

However, we are aware of that more-or-less-specific Time Period mentioned for Tribulation against God's [ wild-olive Gentile-Jewish and natural-olive genetic-Jewish all-living-with-the-faith-of-Abraham ] elect saints:

Daniel 7:17 "These four great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth.
18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever."

Revelation 20:15 and if any one's name was not found written in The Book of Life, he/she was thrown [ not gently escorted ] into The Lake of Fire.

Therefore, that "woman" (referred to in Revelation chapter 12) also has a larger meaning, and should be taken as an allegorical metaphor relating to Israel "herself" -- being that previous Scripture has already referred to Israel in the feminine gender:

Second Kings 19 and Isaiah 37 This is the word that the LORD has spoken concerning (not "regarding") him: "She despises you, she scorns you: the virgin daughter of Zion; she wags her head behind you: the daughter of Jerusalem."

It would behoove this author and you the reader to also substitute modern-day name equivalents for the previous ancient-history ones to get the full impact of what the Spirit intends to convey to us nowadays.

Micah 1:13 Harness the steeds to the chariots, inhabitants of Lachish; you were the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion, for in you were found the transgressions of Israel.

So, it seems that there is a Revelation-chapter12-recorded event occurring not only before but also after after Adam and Eve were created, after the sons of God along with Satan presented themselves to the Lord in the Old-Testament book of Job, and happening in concurrence with and as a result of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Thus, in a multiple-meanings sense, it is true that Satan and his pseudo-"angelic" demons were ousted out of the presence of God in Heaven when Jesus victoriously was raptured up to Heaven upon His resurrection after being crucified:

Revelation 12:5 And she brought forth a male Child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne.

Knowing that angels who never conspired with Satan's rebellion in Heaven need no blood redemption, and regarding concepts contained in Revelation 12:11, the previous planning of, plus (or in contrast with), the actual execution of events after planning - both cited at the same instant in Scripture - apparently is inferred one and the same, which can be confusing:

Luke 11:50 . . . that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world [at, or instead: from?], may be required of this generation
Ephesians 1:4 even as He chose [ God has free-will choice, and thus is pro-choice? ] us in Him before [ "before" - not even "at" - and not logically instead: "after"? ] the foundation of the world [ how could God choose us who did not exist before our free-willed parents decided to marry each other and then have sex and produce us? ], that we should be holy and blameless before Him.
Hebrews 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as He has said, "As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall never enter my rest,'" although His works were finished from the foundation of the world [ His works were not "finished from the foundation of the world" if they had not actually been done nor occurred yet. Yes? Christ did not actually get crucified until He actually got crucified. Yes? ].

Can the Lord "change His mind?" God's actions are sometimes dependent upon what humans decide and do:

Jonah 3:10 When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the evil which He had said He would do to them; and He did not do it.

Did the omniscient God have predictive foreknowledge of that spontaneous free-willed decision by humans before humans actually chose to decide to do what they did?

Previous planning is indeed different than actual execution:

First Peter 1:20 He was destined before the foundation of the world but was made manifest at the end of the times for your sake.

Makes sense. Being pre-planned is a whole different thing than finally and actually being "made manifest." But here we go again with pre-knowledged predestination:

[ How can any name be written "before the foundation of the world" when the named entity has not been created yet and thus, logically, does not exist yet at the time of construction of "the foundation of the world?" ]

14 And to The Woman were given Two Wings of a Great Eagle, that she might fly into The Wilderness, into her place, where she is Nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the Face of the Serpent.
15 And The serpent vomited out of his Mouth Water as a Flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be Carried Away by The Flood.
16 And The Earth helped The Woman; and The Earth opened up its mouth, and swallowed up The Flood which The Dragon threw up out of his mouth.

. . . are perplexing to yours truly as to their literal and/or symbolic or metaphorical or allegorical or figurative meaning.

What "two wings" of what "great eagle?" What "wilderness" is being referred to in this case? What "flood" is referenced, and what is meant by: "the earth opened up its mouth and swallowed the flood?"
