Tempters

Proverbs 10:22 =

The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

No one likes to be lured into a trap, then caught.

That's why there frequently is legal remedy against what is termed: "entrapment," such as that ingrained within the treacherous confines of MSNBC's "Dateline: To Catch a Predator" - with their sadistic immorality-suggestive vice-cop-like decoys.....public libraries - with their insufficient and inadequate on-site-computer anti-porn filters and prowling security guards peeking at what hapless surfers are hopelessly trying to privately purvey.....and Facebook staff imposing popup condemnatory chastisements for victims trying to friend the very ones Facebook suggests friending.

Speaking of libraries, it is perhaps preferable to heed the Biblical admonitiion:

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to yourself, lest you too be tempted.

rather than:

Matthew 20:25 But Jesus called them to him and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.
Matthew 20:26 It shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant

Mark 10:42 And Jesus called them to him and said to them, "You know that those who are supposed to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.
Mark 10:43 But it shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant . . .

with respect to a non-assuming young guy in plain clothes (as undercover security guard, or YGUSG) rather than an obviously-uniformed bullyboy bastard (or UBB) flouting his clout with overbroad and excessive threats and mandatory I.D. disclosure against anonymity . . in the process of patrolling the premises for porn surfers (or PS) -- something along the lines of:

YGUSG (to porn surfer): "Hey dude, where did you find that kinky stuff on the screen? Is that off your flashdrive, or was it on the computer's auxiliary hard drive, or did you find that on the internet?

PS I got it off the web. And look at the huge size of these files! One is 500 MB, another is 750 MB, and one is even slightly more than 1 gigabyte in size. It's noteworthy that these library computers have high-speed cable; otherwise, it would take a substantial amount of time to download these!

YGUSG For sure. What is the URL of some of those, so I also could access them, and what type of files are those which bypassed library filters?

PS Well, one is called Fileboar. Then there's Rapidshare. Here's a few more Usenet or FTP downloaded sources like them. And this one is hosted by WordPress.

YGUSG Awesome. Thanks for the info, and I'll check into it myself.

(The YGUSG then leaves, heads over to the library's tech department, gives the head tech the URL names he found out along with request to run a keylog program on the particular computer terminal the PS is now on to get more URL names, plus tells the tech to initiate a download slowdown program on the pornsite the PS is now connected to, and run a denial-of-service program on that computer preventing connection to similarly-named sources of porn).

Entrapment is not all that uncommon with seemingly legitimate endeavors - like placing a net or sharp hook in bait with the intention of catching fish, with putting luscious bait within a trap ready to clamp on the nose or foot of a non-suspecting mammal, and the like.

Indeed, if all highway vehicles across America were not capable of going over 50 miles per hour, very few speeding tickets would be issued by waiting-and-watching squad-car cops if 55 mph speed limits were posted throughout the nation (with occasional infractions committed for going faster downhill with the wind on one's back).

Who are the advertising tempters, and what is the motivation behind their temptations of what they advertise?

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts He any man.

Perplexing words at face value - being that God the Creator imposed not merely the dangerous and lethal Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden, but the Tempter who advertised eating The Forbidden Fruit thereof.

Should inferior-gender Eve who - in chauvenistically sexist power-hungry desire - have taken and eaten what she should not have (to simply "try something different," perhaps), and thus should she be blamed more than (or instead of) her Creator who at first was responsible for imposing both stumbling blocks of the Tree itself and also the Serpent who suggested committing the sin of ingesting fatal fruit?

Thank God that He compensated by sending Jesus Christ our Atonement for us believers, and the promise of forever making things totally and irreversibly right throughout eternity!

No wonder, though, that Christ the Creator - in disgust - told people to "eat His flesh and drink His blood" - lamentably remembering how illicit ingesting byf His disobedient human creatures way back in the beginning had caused everyone such horrendous and far-reaching consequential problems.

Ever since His appearance on Earth, we Christians often pray:

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

Was and is God in the business of normally leading people into temptation, so much that He has to be petitioned in 'The Lord's Prayer' to NOT do so?

Clearly, there are some temptations we frail and fallible humans could not withstand, if put under pressure - whether of a sexual nature, or being "forced" to gossip, steal, lie, cheat, and maybe even murder under compelling circumstances.

Hence the petition for the Lord to prevent us from entering and encountering what would understandably be overwhelming, leading to inevitable disaster.

Found within Scripture are references speaking of temptation:

Matthew 4:7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, you shalt not tempt the Lord your God."
Luke 4:12 And Jesus answering said to him, "It is said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.' "

Acts 5:9 Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you all have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Hey, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and shall carry you out."

First Corinthians 7:5 Defraud you all not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that you all may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, lest Satan tempt you for lack of self-control.

Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 18:7 Woe to the world because of offences! for it is necessary ["necessary?"] that offences come; but woe to that person by whom the offence comes!
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that you all enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Mark 14:38 You all watch and pray, lest you all enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he left Him alone for a while.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are those, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luke 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Luke 22:40 And when He was at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you all enter not into temptation."
Luke 22:46 And said to them, "Why do you all sleep? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

First Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
First Corinthians 10:13 There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you all are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you all may be able to endure it.

First Timothy 6:9 But they who would be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Sometimes, temptations are related to biological needs and necessities not being met because of sinful duressers and the effects of their wayward wicked duress imposed....but other times temptations are merely the result of insatiable curiosity and investigation where there is no need to delve into what one logically senses is probably or assuredly detrimental and damaging.

Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the gullible go on, and suffer for it.
Proverbs 27:12 A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the gullible go on, and suffer for it.

Lack of information, along with non-disclosure of information available, is closely involved with hidden temptation and effects from such:

Deuteronomy 7:20 Moreover the LORD your God will send hornets among them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you are destroyed.

Joshua 7:19 Then Joshua said to Achan, "My son, give glory to the LORD God of Israel, and render praise to Him; and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me."

Judges 6:11 Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the oak at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press, to hide it from the Midianites.

First Samuel 3:17 And Eli said, "What was it that he told you? Do not hide it from me. May God do so to you and more also, if you hide anything from me of all that he told you."
First Samuel 19:2 And Jonathan told David, "Saul my father seeks to kill you; therefore take heed to yourself in the morning, stay in a secret place and hide yourself;
First Samuel 20:5 David said to Jonathan, "Hey, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit at table with the king; but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field till the third day at evening.
First Samuel 23:19 Then the Ziphites went up to Saul at Gibeah, saying, "Does not David hide among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah, which is south of Jeshimon?
First Kings 17:3 "Leave here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is east of the Jordan.

Second Kings 7:12 And the king rose in the night, and said to his servants, "I will tell you what the Syrians have prepared against us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the open country, thinking, 'When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive and get into the city.'"

Job 24:4 They thrust the poor off the road; the poor of the earth all hide themselves.
Job 34:22 There is no gloom or deep darkness where evildoers may hide themselves.

Psalm 27:5 For He will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent, He will set me high upon a rock.
Psalm 55:12 It is not an enemy who taunts me--then I could bear it; it is not an adversary who deals insolently with me--then I could hide from him.
Psalm 64:2 . . . hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the scheming of evildoers

Proverbs 28:12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
Proverbs 28:28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Isaiah 16:3 "Give counsel, grant justice; make your shade like night at the height of noon; hide the outcasts, betray not the fugitive;
Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the wrath is past.

Jeremiah 36:19 Then the princes said to Baruch, "Go and hide, you and Jeremiah, and let no one know where you are."

Amos 9:3 Though they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, from there I will search out and take them; and though they hide from my sight at the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them.

It is NOT "cowardice" to hide in appropriate situations, but instead is life-saving and honorably-courageous wisdom instead.

Discriminatory godly escapism - without naiive inclusiveness - is generally proper response to potential traps:

First Corinthians 6:18 Shun immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body; but the immoral man sins against his own body.
First Corinthians 10:14 Therefore, my beloved, shun the worship of idols.

First Timothy 6:11 But as for you, man of God, shun all this; aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

Second Timothy 2:22 So shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.

The rewards are great, and Holy Writ (though giving negative admonitions against sexual impropriety and wrongful [contrasted with expected and righteous] erotic lust in the complete rendition of the following verses) gives the pure in mind and sensuous in craving, holy and sacred ideas for thought and action:

Genesis 2:25 And the man and his wife were both naked, and were not ashamed.

First Samuel 13:18 (see the RSV and NASV) Now she was [not] wearing a full-length dress with long sleeves . . .

Song of Solomon 7:8 I say I will climb the palm tree and lay hold of its branches. Oh, may your breasts be like clusters of the vine, and the scent of your breath like apples,
