You the reader might have heard the religious-sounding humanistic axioms:
"God Helps Those Who Help Themselves" and "Let Go and Let God."
Neither one is completely true, and neither one is a substitute for actual Bible verses.
Concerning "God Helps Those Who Help Themselves", the phrase helps themselves have the ring of self-sufficient and even greedy self-indulgence. It also has the aura of "If anything is going to get accomplished, I don't need God's help, since God is either helpless or does not care; I can do it by myself."
The complete opposite can be inferred from "Let Go and Let God." In that case, the feeling expressed is "I can do nothing to save myself nor even participate in saving myself to any extent and in any way. Let God do it all while I irresponsibly give up."
When contemplating how to relieve oneself of a malady or disease, the following Scripture verses apply for medical rejuvenation:
Genesis 35:2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Put away the foreign gods that are among you, and purify yourselves, and change your garments;
Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.
Joshua 24:23 He said, "Then put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the LORD, the God of Israel."

First Samuel 7:3 Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, "If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your heart to the LORD, and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."

James 1:21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rank growth of wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Isaiah 57:1 The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity,
2 he enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness.
3 But you, draw near here, sons of the sorceress, offspring of the adulterer and the harlot.
4 Of whom are you making sport? Against whom do you open your mouth wide and stick out your tongue? Are you not children of transgression, the offspring of deceit,
5 you who burn with lust among the oaks, under every green tree; who slay your children [with abortion-homicide?] in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?
6 Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion; they, they, are your lot; to them you have poured out a drink offering, you have brought a cereal offering. Shall I be appeased for these things?
8 Behind the door and the doorpost you have set up your symbol; for, deserting me, you have uncovered your bed, you have gone up to it, you have made it wide; and you have made a bargain for yourself with them, you have loved their bed, you have looked on nakedness.
10 You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say, "It is hopeless"; you found new life for your strength, and so you were not faint.
11 Whom did you dread and fear, so that you lied, and did not remember me, did not give me a thought? Have I not held my peace, even for a long time, and so you do not fear me?
12 I will tell of your righteousness and your doings, but they will not help you.
13 When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you! The wind will carry them off, a breath will take them away. But he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.
14 And it shall be said, "Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction [including toddlers scribbling on entrance sidewalks and leaving toys on the flooor for people to stumble on] from my people's way."

Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I reside in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
16 For I will not contend for ever, nor will I always be angry; for from me proceeds the spirit, and I have made the breath of life.
17 Because of the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry, I smote him, I hid my face and was angry; but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and requite him with comfort, creating for his mourners the fruit of the lips."
19 "Peace, peace, to the far and to the near," says the LORD; "and I will heal him."

36 You know the word which he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),
37 the word which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
39 And we are witnesses to all that He did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree;
40 but God raised Him on the third day and made Him manifest;
41 not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after He rose from the dead.
42 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he is the one ordained by God to be judge of the living and the dead.

First Timothy 3:11 The women likewise must be serious, no slanderers, but moderate, faithful in all things.
Titus 2:2 Bid the older men be moderate, serious, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.
My favorite healing account, dear to my heart concerning healing those prone to suffer strokes (i.e. burst blood vessels because of high blood pressure due to eating too much salt and not exercising enough) and hemorrhaging, is:
Matthew 9:20 And hey, a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment;
21 for she said to herself, "If I only touch His garment, I shall be made well."
22 Jesus turned, and seeing her He said, "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well." And instantly the woman was made well.
Mark 5:25 And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years,
26 and who had suffered much under many physicians [not covered by Medicare nor Medicaid?], and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.
27 She had heard the reports about Jesus, and came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.
28 For she said, "If I touch even His garments, I shall be made well."
29 And immediately the hemorrhage ceased; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.
30 And Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power had gone forth from Him, immediately turned about in the crowd, and said, "Who touched my garments?"
31 And His disciples said to Him, "You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, 'Who touched me?'"
32 And He looked around to see who had done it.
33 But the woman, knowing what had been done to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before Him, and told Him the whole truth.
34 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease."
Luke 8:43 And a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years and could not be healed by any one,
44 came up behind Him, and touched the fringe of His garment; and immediately her flow of blood ceased.
45 And Jesus said, "Who was it that touched me?" When all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the crowd surrounds you and press upon you!"
46 But Jesus said, "Some one touched me; for I perceive that power has gone forth from me."
47 And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before Him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed.
48 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace."
Against those who do not comply with God's Scripture nor adequately accommodate to the holiness of God, and rely on the Lord to heal them, per:
Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
. . . there might be vain attempts at "a courageous battle with cancer" and the like, but instead:
Proverbs 29:1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
Jeremiah 8:15 We looked for peace, but no good came, for a time of healing, but hey, terror.
Jeremiah 14:19 Have you completely rejected Judah? Does your soul loathe Zion? Why have you smitten us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; for a time of healing, but hey, terror.
Jeremiah 30:13 There is none to uphold your cause, no medicine for your wound, no healing for you.
Jeremiah 46:11 Go up to Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt! In vain you have used many medicines; there is no healing for you.
Hosea 13:13 (RSV) The pangs of childbirth come for him, but he is an unwise son; for now he does not present himself at the mouth of the womb.
IS God to blame for allowing Satan to inflict even Christians, at times, with various handicaps and diseases?
IS the Lord to blame for allowing irresponsibly, careless, brainwashing by heretic/apostate propaganda or willfully-deceived and ignorantly-deceived immodest young and older female humans to titillate and either non-intentionally or deliberately sexually arouse human males in general public view who they are not presently married to with demonic lewd exhibitionism of indecently-hairstyled mopheadedness, sleevelessly-naked arms, nude legs bared by shortened skirts or shorts instead of covered with full-length slacks, and not wearing socks with noisy flip-flop sandals . . . so as to incite and cause men to search for free internet porn and even pay for masseuse or escorts prostitutes?
Well, did God Himself not impose the stumbling blocks of The Tempter and The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in The Garden . . . by which formerly-only-birthday-suit-attired Eve disobediently caused herself and Adam and all of humankind thereafter such disappointment, misery, pain, and death?
Romans 11:32 For God has consigned all men to disobedience, that He may have mercy upon all.
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture consigned all things to sin, that what was promised to faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Since the Lord so consigned everyone to go awry and cause super-serious problems by allowing temptations, is He therefore at fault?
Romans 3:5 But if our wickedness serves to show the justice of God, what shall we say? That God is unjust to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.)
Romans 3:6 By no means! For then how could God judge the world?
Romans 9:18 So then He [our "pro-choice" Creator] has mercy upon whomever [also with free choice] He wills, and He hardens the heart of whomever He wills.
Romans 9:19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who can resist His will?"
[ "What will be, will be?" ]
Romans 9:20 But who are you, a man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me thus?"
Romans 9:21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for beauty and another for menial use?
James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God is not tempted with evil and He Himself tempts no one;
James 1:14 but each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.
James 1:15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown brings forth death.
It is easy - and seems way too easy - for an all-powerful and self-sufficient Creator to say to us red-blooded sensitive-to-erotic-stimulation males who are relentlessly besieged by shapely young and older women shoving their porn-indecently-exposed loose long hair, naked arms, nude legs, and soxless bared feet into our proverbial face:
First Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
"Oh yeah. Oh sure. And what are we supposed to do promptly after the [irresistable?] savory carrot of tantalizing bared-woman body parts is dangled in front of our mouths or forced down our throats by accursedly-enticing warm-weather exhibitionists?"
Genesis 49:18 I wait for your salvation, LORD. [Twisting Scripture: does God need to be saved?]
Second Kings 6:33 And while he was still speaking with them, the king came down to him and said, "This trouble is from the LORD! Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?" [How well we know the feeling!]
Psalm 25:3 Yes, let none that wait for you be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
Psalm 25:21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.
Psalm 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD!
Psalm 31:24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!
Psalm 37:9 For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait for the LORD shall possess the land.
Psalm 37:34 Wait for the LORD, and keep to His way, and He will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the wicked. [How we wish for Him to soon exterminate in-our-face warm-weather female exhibitionists!]
Psalm 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I hope
Proverbs 20:22 Do not say, "I will repay evil"; wait for the LORD, and He will help you.
Isaiah 8:17 I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in Him.
Isaiah 26:8 In the path of your judgments, LORD, we wait for you; your memorial name is the desire of our soul.
Isaiah 30:18 Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you; therefore He exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.
Isaiah 33:2 Oh LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.
Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 49:23 Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame."
As previously stated, it is easy for God - under no compulsion Himself to engage in immediate or soon-after sexual reproduction after being sexually turned on by incessant and overt attractive immodestly-exposed female body parts - to wait [for whatever] . . . and [sadistically?] state:
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."
Genesis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
Genesis 9:7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, bring forth abundantly on the earth and multiply in it."
If us men could immediately disrobe whatever insufficient clothing is on each female human who entices us with warm-weather immodesty, and promptly engage in genital intercourse with her, that would likely result in babies being born by the dozen in response to the "Be fruitful and multiply" command. But such random intercourse of random men with random women would not merely be horrendously confusing but phenomenally inconvenient - not to mention astronomically expensive.
Admittedly, the New Testament does say:
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Yet it seems that even Jesus, like a military commando on a limited-time-duration field-combat mission, constantly surrounded by and under bombardment from a barrage of satanic bullets, was not under the duress that most men are during warm weather days in modern-day America amidst all the senseless and despisble non-solicited live-sized mopheaded/naked-armed/nude-legged/bare-footed porn-in-motion surrounding them nowadays.
Perhaps, and hopefully, at least intentions of sexual purity by genuine Christian males will continue to result in some success, using applied righteous-hatred-imbedded-and-based tactical and strategic diversionary principles of:
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the [shorts-during-warm-weather-propaganda] wicked, nor stands in the way of [indecently-misattired women] sinners, nor sits in the seat of [anti-modesty/anti-marriage] scoffers;
Psalm 1:2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD [not the fear of those who pooh-pooh summertime modesty, nor fear of the scorn of immodest female floozys] is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.
Romans 16:17 I appeal to you, brethren, to take note of those who create [pro-summertime-immodesty] dissensions and difficulties, in opposition to the [consistent-decent-attire-during-warm-weather] doctrine which you have been taught; avoid them.
Second Corinthians 6:17 "Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them," says the Lord, "and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you."
Ephesians 5:7 . . . Therefore do not associate with them . . .
Second Timothy 3:5 [Concerning gals who espouse] the [apostate heresey] of: [I-can-misdress-immodesty-because-I'm-under grace-and-not-under-legalistic-nitpicky-trifles-law/man-look-on-the-outward-God-looks-at-the-lustful-and Word-despising-heart] religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people [whether such pervertesses misthink that "rude" or "impolite" or not].
Oh, to live in a society and a neighborhood where the women continually appeared in very-modest hijabs and burkas [or equivalent] with slippers or books or socks even during warm weather . . . and arrested on the spot with stiff fines and imprisonment if they did not do so!
Perhaps we wonder how we can obey all of God's commands, and obey them as much as we should.
No need to worry. All we have to do, if we are afraid of not being totally able to obey consistently and completely enough, is simply to want to obey them - and the Lord Himself will take it from there, as much as He wants it taken.
